Sherry is my wife’s Yoga instructor and she is a champ!  She has a little home studio here in Jamul and she can really bring it from what I hear.  My wife practically comes home limping some times yet still loves it!

While I was setting up a couple lights I was telling Sherry that I never like to “airbrush” people, I like to capture who they really are.  She bluntly told me “Daniel, I have been down a lot of roads in my life and not all of them have been paved”.  Did I mention she is a champ :)  So here she is, the real Sherry.  I thought she looked great!

I lit Sherry with an Alienbees AB800 Ring Flash and 2 Yongnuo YN460s for hair lights.

]]> http://danieltyack.com/sherry-the-yoga-mamma/feed/ 0 Hellooooo iStock! http://danieltyack.com/hellooooo-istock/ http://danieltyack.com/hellooooo-istock/#comments Wed, 24 Feb 2010 05:28:43 +0000 danieltyack http://danieltyack.com/?p=361 I bought my first digital SLR camera on January 15, 2010.  I studied my butt off, invested in some gear and practiced like crazy.  Like every other hobby in my life I can’t help but get as good as possible as quickly as possible and I have been happy with my progress!  Some of my recent photos have been getting the attention of other contributors on Flickr and I have secretly been wanting to apply to sell stock imagery on iStock.  I use iStock all the time for my marketing business along with thousands of other people and companies.  I applied about 2 weeks ago and started the process.  I had to read a BUNCH of stuff and take a test.  It took me two tries to pass but I eventually did.  Then I had to submit 3 photos for critique and approval.  I got rejected twice!  But try and try again I did and the third time was a charm :)  I am now officially a contributor of iStock and I’m waiting for my first uploaded photos to be approved.  At this moment I’m a pretty stoked dude!

Here were the three photos that finally got approved.  Funny that two of them are self portraits.  Anybody want to come model for me any time soon?
